LAFAYETTE, La., Sept. 28, 2005, Sep 28, 2005 (PRIMEZONE via COMTEX) -- Ultra
Pure Water Technologies, Inc. (Pink Sheets:UPWT) (Ultra Pure) announced today
that the company has completed the testing, inspection, and certification of the
"Ice Island" automated ice bagging units. The "Ice Island" system is an on-site
ice production, bagging, and storage unit. The patent-applied for technology
totally automates production and packaging of ice products in a portable
configuration installed at convenience stores, grocery stores, hotels, resorts,
hospitals, and industrial complexes. The "Ice Island" system is manufactured by
the company's wholly owned subsidiary Icex Holdings, Ltd., Inc.
The certification and testing of the "Ice Island" was recently completed by ETL
SEMKO, a division of Intertek Group plc, an industry leader in the scope of
testing and accreditations. The "Ice Island" system will now bear the ETL Listed
mark on all products placed into the public venue. The ETL Listed mark is the
legal equivalent of the UL Listed mark throughout the United States. A product
bearing the ETL Listed mark is determined to have met the minimum requirements
of prescribed product safety standards. The "Ice Island" system has been
certified for both indoor and outdoor use, a very important product distinction.
Since the ETL Listed mark is a recognized and accepted indicator of a product's
compliance to safety standards, retailers, inspectors, and Authorities Having
Jurisdiction (AHJs) all accept ETL Listed products.
In addition, the "Ice Island" system has been certified to post the proprietary
ETL Sanitation mark on all of the systems manufactured by the company. A product
bearing the ETL Sanitation mark signifies the product has met the applicable
ANSI/NSF sanitation requirements. A product bearing the ETL Sanitation mark
signifies that it was tested and complies with the minimum requirements of
product sanitation standards. An ETL Sanitation mark indicates that the "Ice
Island" system is fit for use in the production of food intended for human
consumption.
Daniel LeBlanc, president of Ultra Pure stated, "The certification of the "Ice
Island" system by ETL SEMKO will allow Ultra Pure to begin a progression towards
our vision of supplying the "Ice Island" to the convenience and grocery store
markets. The company will now be able to post the ETL Listed mark and the ETL
Sanitation mark on each of the "Ice Island" units deployed into the target
markets. The marks indicate to the store owners and the buying public that the
equipment has been certified to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health
Administration) standards. The certification for use in both indoor and outdoor
applications indicates the company's commitment to manufacturing the "Ice
Island" to exacting standards and to provide flexibility for the location of the
equipment in the convenience and grocery store industry."
